Cyclomethicone use

Cyclomethicone is used to blend with fragrance oils and perfume oils for after bath body mists. This

product feels like a luxurious body spray dry. Cyclomethicone is a variety of cosmetic applications such

as antiperspirants, deodorants, lotions, creams, hair sprays, bath oils, makeup and nail polish. For a

clear spray, pour in the bottle and add cyclomethicone fragrance oil. Use of fragrance oil in ratios of

1:3 to 1:6 to cyclomethicone, or higher. Cyclomethicone fragrance oils are mixed with bottled in PET

containers with a fine mist sprayer. They tend not to use PVC as a fragrance oil is to reduce and

degrade the PVC.

Cyclomethicone are silicones, which have a cyclic structure, instead of the chain structures of

dimethyl silicones unchanged. Low heat of vaporization and the ability to select a desired vapor

pressure has led to their use as cosmetic vehicles. Unmodified silicones stay on or near the surface of

the skin. Not only are the molecules too large to physically penetrate to the upper living cells, they

associate with the upper layer of the skin to dry out, but they can not penetrate cell membranes also

because of their size.

Cyclomethicone evaporates quickly help carry oil in the upper layer of the epidermis. From there they

can be absorbed through the skin. Cyclomethicone perform a similar function in hair care products by

nutrients enter the hair shaft.
